Hunters, being produced in huge numbers and being a basically simple aircraft, have
survived in large numbers, with many airframes preserved throughout the UK (and plenty elsewhere).
Many are in flying condition, and a number appear at airshows regularly.
The list here is compiled from a large number of sources, with particular credit to
Bob Dunn and the Wolverhampton Aviation Group, Roy Blewett and the contents of Ken Ellis' Wrecks & Relics (16th edition) and Otger van der Kooij's
European Wrecks & Relics (2nd edition). However due to the difficulty of finding out some of
the information and the swiftness with which Hunters seem to change hands, I have no doubt there
are errors and omissions in the listing. If you have any changes please let me know.
I am not including examples on target ranges as they are generally not viewable and are in very
poor state with no hope of preservation. However, some BDR and fire training airframes are included
in the hope they will eventually be rescued and preserved. Some serial numbers are links to
a page with a recent(ish) picture of the preserved aircraft (mostly links to the appropriate
bit on the Survivors Pictures pages - be warned, these pages are
rather graphics intensive).

Unless otherwise stated, all the above are nose/cockpit sections.
As there were so many variants, only the major UK and export variants are listed here; many
variants differed little from previous ones, having only different equipment fits or minor
armament variations. The major export versions have a country listed underneath their designation,
but this was in most cases not the only customer to use the particular mark, particularly due to
the moving around many of the airframes did. Production totals for each variant include converted
airframes and are not limited to the main operator, e.g. the FGA.9 totals include Rhodesian examples.
Corrections and gap-filling welcome as always!
