Hunter F.6A XE627 at IWM Duxford, 1st November 2020; Richard E Flagg

The IWM's Hunter is F.6A XE627, first flown on 13th June 1956 and delivered to 45MU the next month. She served with 65(F), 92(F) and 54(F) Squadrons plus 229 OCU, then 1(F) Squadron and finally 1 TWU before retirement in the early 1980s. Repainted in the mid-1990s and hangared almost all the time, she's absolutely immaculate. While work was ongoing on the new AirSpace hangar extension, XE627 was moving around a fair bit, and spent some time outside, when one of the above pictures was taken. She's now inside the AirSpace hangar where it can be seen today looking good, albeit the tyres could do with inflating a bit.
