Believe the "aerial array" on XE685 are actually for for small practice bombs. Sir Sydney Camm always designed good looking aircraft, the Hunter was his best work.

I fondly remember the "Hunter". In the late fifties: Neville Duke would come down to the Netherlands and perform the breaking of the soundbarrier at airshows. He would climb to very high altitudes and dive down thus surpasing the speed of sound.

Some years ago I was an electrician on a number of private Hunters at Bournemouth "Hurn" Arport, A beautiful aircraft that turned heads.

Aha, what memories. The two aircraft bottom left and centre were at some point my charges as an electrical engineer on 738 at Brawdy. Mostly nice and easy to work on, but there were one or two places where you had the odd difficulty. Lots of fondness for the two marques, though I never got to fly in one! The T8 went unserviceable on the hardstanding before it even moved.
I did however fly to Leuchars and Yeovil in a Sea Prince as ground crew for the Rough Diamonds.
