correction to my prevlous comment. It was 111 sqd, the Black Arrows I saw at Jever doing the 22 aircraft loop. They came to Jever to perform for an open day and gave us a performance on there arrival. Go to Mick Ryans amazing Jever Steam Laundry to watch the air display.

I was sergeant i.c ground eqmt at raf jever 1959-61. We had 4&93 sqds there flying hunters. Beautiful aircraft . Saw the Black Diamonds execute 22 diamond loop. Great memories.

18 months on 228 OCU - Hunter T7 was one of four aircraft types that we used between 1965/67. In 1983/87 worked on FGA 9s at Thornhill Zimbabwe

great aircraft, I was an airframe technician in the R.A.F.did majors on them at abingdon and then went onto 237 ocu.

Believe the "aerial array" on XE685 are actually for for small practice bombs. Sir Sydney Camm always designed good looking aircraft, the Hunter was his best work.

I fondly remember the "Hunter". In the late fifties: Neville Duke would come down to the Netherlands and perform the breaking of the soundbarrier at airshows. He would climb to very high altitudes and dive down thus surpasing the speed of sound.
