Hunter F.2 WN907 at Robertsbridge, 29th September 2013; Richard E Flagg

Poor old WN907 had a pretty brief career with 257 Squadron before being written off due to damage received in an accident on 9th April 1957. With the basically intact airframe used as a ground instructional airframe at Colerne and St. Athan, she was later disposed of as scrap. The badly damaged nose section was rescued from a scrapyard by the Blyth Valley Aviation Collection, but then remained in storage for many years, the owner not having the resources to begin a restoration. When I visited the owner mentioned it was available for any interested party as a restoration project - it has since moved on and is now at Robertsbridge, where little progress seems to have been made.
