Hunter GA.11 WV382 at Long Marston, 17th October 2008; Allen Watkin
WV382 is ex-FRADU GA.11 and has been rescued from dereliction at Long Marston. I found her in surprisingly good condition there in 1998, about the only sign of deterioration was the colour of the paintwork. Over a year after my first visit though there was no sign of any change in the aircraft's condition - the tarpaulin was even in exactly the same place - and that turned out to be a sign of the demise of this collection of aircraft, which had been been basically abandoned to the weather. Allen's visit in 2008 found her well and truly derelict, but the missing tail turned out to be a positive sign - it was the first indication of dismantling work going on, prior to her move to the East Midlands Aero Park in late January 2009. She is to be reassembled and restored in the near future.
