[Victor Preservation]
[Leading Particulars]
Unfortunately the Victor, despite staying in service longer, hasn't survived retirement as well
as the Vulcan. Most Victors were scrapped, though a number of
nose sections have been rescued and are scattered throughout the country.
The list here is as complete as I can make it from
personal knowledge and scouring various books (in particular, Ken Ellis' Wrecks & Relics and
Peter R. March's Military Aircraft Markings).
If you have any changes please let me know.
I am not including Victor remains, e.g. parts of Victors used for fire practice or BDR.
One example on a dump is included in case it is rescued for preservation, unlikely as that
is. Some serial numbers are also links to a page with a recent(ish) picture of the preserved
aircraft.

Unlike the Vulcan, the Victor never really captured the public's hearts, due in part to its
tanker role in later years rendering it a much less exciting aircraft to many. Victor displays
were few and far between and they certainly didn't throw it around the sky like they did with
the Vulcan. Today only two Victors remain in running condition, XM715 at Bruntingthorpe and
XL231 at Elvington. XM715 is regularly shown off at Open Days, which are well worth
going along to. There are no efforts to get any Victor to fly again.
The leading particulars table will come back when I get time to finish corrections to it.
