- XD235 (then at Southampton), with the radome folded back. Gives you an idea of the amount of
plumbing in this area.
- Closer view of the end of the nose with the radome open.
- Starboard intake. Compare the positioning of the Avon engine here with those
in the Sea Vixen.
- Lower starboard forward fuselage, showing cannon port.
- Lower port forward fuselage, looking aft, showing nose gear door and bay. Nose bay and
door interiors are light grey.
- Lower port forward fuselage, showing cannon port.
- Port intake. As with the starboard intake, you can see the prominent
boundary layer splitter. Intake interiors appear to be natural metal with a painted lip.

- Port intake side.
- Port wing root from forward, looking aft.
- Port wing (folded) and jetpipe.
- Port engine jetpipe and rear fuselage. In-service Scimitars soon had
this area looking well blackened, with the serial often obscured by soot.
- Starboard rear fuselage and jetpipe.
- Starboard airbrake. Closed, unfortunately.
- Mid underside, standing behind wing, looking forward.
- Mid underside, standing ahead of wing, looking aft.
- Starboard intake side and nose.
