Canberra PR.9 XH165 at Walpole, 2nd August 2020; Richard E Flagg

This Canberra was delivered to the Royal Airport in early 1960 and retired into St Athan in September 1987 for spares recovery and storage. The aircraft was put up for disposal in 1991, but sadly got moved to the dump in 1992. Just a year later, XH165 was moved to Hanningfield Metals where it got scrapped.

Thankfully the cockpit was saved and was sold to the Blyth Valley Aviation Collection in Walpole. XH165 still sits at Walpole today, hidden away in the undergrowth.

Sadly, being sat outside all these years with little maintenance has started to take its toll on this cockpit section. Hopefully, she'll receive some TLC one day in the future.
