XZ396 first flew on 19th October 1977 and retired to St Athan for spares recovery on 4th November 2005.
It was then sold to Everett Aero based at Bentwaters Airfield for outside storage before being exported to America to be displayed at the Pima Museum in 2014.
XZ396 can be seen today in faded desert pink colours with a blacked out canopy to protect both the canopy and cockpit from the sun and hot weather.
