Hunter FR.10 XJ714 at East Midlands Aeropark, 21st September 2023; Jake Wallace

No true Hunter FR.10 survived to be preserved in the UK, so the Jet Aviation Preservation Group at Long Marston took on the mantle of bringing the variant back from the dead. XJ714 is a composite of a number of Hunters brought together to create an FR.10 (e.g. the tail section is from ET-272). As this sort of thing going on a lot with Hunters, it's not even 'cheating'! Sadly JAPG later gave up on their collection and abandoned it to the weather. Thankfully in October 2008, a number of the Long Marston airframes were acquired by the East Midlands Aeropark and XJ714 started to look much better in its new home, with it receiving a repaint just a couple of years later.

Today, the airframe appears to be in good condition, receiving a repaint in recent years, and looking smart as a result!
