Joined the Squadron after completing
basic trade training.A great shame that the spars were subject to metal fatigue, the Victor was its replacement but there were a lot of upset Aircraft Servicing Chiefs when the Valiants were being broken up

Very proud to have served on No: 543 Squadron as an Air Wireless Fitter; have many memories of the Valiant and the Victor that followed it. As well as memories of RAF Wyton, which I return to occasionally.

First of many squadrons I served on and will always have a soft spot for both the squadron and the aircraft. Very overlooked aircraft by its older"V"
