Purpose of flightPilot was on loan to de Havilland and engaged on level speed flying at 20,000ft and dives to 400 m.p.h.
Incident locationRAF Greenham Common, Berkshire
Incident details20min after take-off, aircraft was heard diving at very high speed. It emerged from cloud over Greenham Common, diving inverted. It impacted the ground close to the RAF station headquarters and disintegrated
