Hunter F.74 XF460 at Tocumwal, July 2000; Bob Lawson

XF460 began life as an F.6, serving with the RAF for just over a decade. In the early 1970s, the airframe was converted to an F.74 and given serial 546, with it being delivered to the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). 546 retired in 1992 and was later purchased by Pacific Hunter Aviation in 1995 alongside another 21 Hunters. She was placed into storage at Tocumwal Airfield, New South Wales, Australia, with her engine still onboard, rather than removed and stored separately.

In early 2022, 546 was relocated to Hunter Warbirds based in Scone, where it has embarked on a rather extensive restoration project, which included treating any areas of corrosion, refurbishing the cockpit and ejection seat, and fitting of a new canopy. The project was finished with a repaint back into RAF markings, gaining her original serial number, XF460, back. She is currently undercover and on display in the 'Cold War Jets' section of the museum.
