Hunter FGA.9 XG154 at RAF Museum London, 15th April 2023; Jake Wallace

One of only two FGA.9s preserved and on display in the UK is XG154 at the RAF Museum London, Hendon, and is in superb condition.

XG154 was built as an F.6 and served with 66(F) Squadron before being returned to Hawkers and converted to an FGA.9 in 1960. She went on to serve with 8(F) and 43(F) Squadrons, spent some time with the Fleet Air Arm at Brawdy, then ended her days back with the RAF in 1 TWU.

On retirement, she was earmarked for preservation with the RAF Museum at Hendon. Now on display inside, she is the first aircraft you can see when entering the museum's main display hall. Looking very shiny, the markings are combined 8/43 Squadron ones, from the time the two squadrons shared aircraft in the Far East.
