Hunter T.7 XL569 at East Midlands Aeropark, 30th May 2021; Adam Poultney

XL569 is an ex-RAF trainer which first took to the skies on 3rd March 1958. After transferring to several squadrons over its flying career, the airframe was retired and got transferred to the Royal Air Force Technical School at RAF Cosford. Here, the aircraft was maintained in flying condition before then being transferred to RAF Technical School at RAF Scampton and then transferred again to RAF technical school in RAF Abingdon.

XL569 was then moved to East Midlands Aeropark in Leicestershire, possibly somewhere around the late 1990s. The aircraft then took another short trip to the north side of East Midlands airport when the museum was moved in early 2000s.

The airframe has been repainted a handful of times since arrival at the museum and can be seen today in an orange and grey colour scheme.
XL569 can be seen on display today on concrete pads and outside battling the elements, overall the aircraft seems to be in good condition.
