Sea Hawk FGA.6 WV797 at Midland Air Museum, 14th May 2022; Jake Wallace

Looking rather splendid is the Midland Air Museum's example, WV797, which served with 787, 899, 898 and 738 NAS before retirement at Sydenham, where it became an instructional airframe. Later spent some time at Halton and Culdrose before ending up at the museum. She is displayed in Suez colours - the yellow and black stripes were to aid recognition of friendly forces. She was fairly recently repainted as part of the Museum's rolling programme to keep all the exhibits in good nick and still looks good now. Some years back she's gained a set of rocket rails, and a pair of drop tanks are in store pending acquisition or construction of a set of appropriate pylons.
