Sea Hawk FB.3 WN105 at Birlingham, 13th June 2021; Alan Wilson

Part of a private collection of jets tucked away in sleepy Birlingham is this poor neglected Sea Hawk.
She was in generally good condition in 1998 though there was some corrosion on the undercarriage and the canopy perspex had begun to craze, but overall she was in surprisingly good condition for an aircraft that had been out in the open air for some years. Sadly more than a decade later it is clear she's been badly neglected, and she is now disappearing into the foliage growing up around her. A great shame for a rare Mk.3 to be allowed to deteriorate like this. Hopefully she, and the rest of the collection at some point will receive some TLC.
