Nimrod MR.2 XV255 at City of Norwich Aviation Museum, 3rd December 2022; Jake Wallace

Beginning life as an MR.1, XV255 was delivered in 1971 to St. Mawgan. It wasn't long before she made her way to Kinloss to be converted to MR.2.

XV255 made her final flight from RAF Kinloss to Norwich Airport on the 24th of May 2010 and was then moved to the museum for display where she remains today.

XV255 is pretty much a complete airframe including all four of her engines which are still free but are starting to show signs of corrosion. The dedicated volunteers have been restoring her electrical systems for the past few years and clean her regularly. Interior tours of the aircraft are also available.
