XS923 first took to the skies on 13th December 1966, the airframe retired to RAF Cranfield where it was placed into storage. The aircraft was sold to Phoenix Aviation based at Bruntingthorpe in November 1994 and was sadly broken up a month later. The cockpit was sold to Sue and Roy who moved it to Welshpool where it has been kept undercover ever since.
