Lightning T.5 XS421 at Luqa, July 1974; Phil Bradshaw

XS421 first flew on 25th February 1965 and retired in 1975 and was scrapped in 1976 of which the cockpit thankfully survived.

The cockpit was sold and road moved to Rayleigh, Essex for storage before moving to East Bilney in Norfolk. In 2019, XS421 was sold to a new owner who moved the cockpit to join his other Lightning cockpit XN795 again to Neatishead. XS421 is currently undercover slowly being restored alongside XN795.
