Gannet AS.1 XA331 at Caloundra, ; Nick Sayers/Queensland Air Museum

Built in 1955, XA331 served with 816 and 817 NAS, RAN until retirement in 1967. Delivered to Nowra for possible use as a fire-fighting training aid, it was never used as such but over the years it was stripped and basically left derelict. QAM acquired it in 1992 and have since restored it from a gutted hulk into a superb example of the type as can be seen above. For a while she wore the false serial XA131 but now wears her correct serial.
