- A Vickers ad from early 1955 for the Supermarine 525.
- A Royal Navy recruitment advertisement from 1957.
- A Royal Navy recruitment advertisement from 1963. Rather corny, but considerably more
sophisticated than the RAF's efforts of the same years - "It's a man's life in the RAF!" being
one of the more memorable tag lines!
| F.1 XD317 - FLEET AIR ARM MUSEUM |
- My favourite shot, this one! Note that XD317 does not have the refuelling probe fitted.
- View from port, note HDU on the deck in front.
- Similar view, this time over the Sea Vampire's starboard wing and different lighting.
- View from starboard. The carrier island in the background is part of the mock carrier the
FAAM have constructed for their Carrier exhibition - well worth a visit!
| F.1 XD332 - FLAMBARDS THEME PARK |
- XD332 basks in the sun... and gets faded paintwork as a result, ah well!
She has since been acquired by the Southampton Hall of Aviation and is outside
the Hall while some rectification is carried out and while room is made for the new
exhibit.
- View from directly ahead, nose and intake size exaggerated a bit by the lense. Offset
refuelling probe position very obvious.
- View from port.
- View from behind and port. Note drooped arrestor hook.
