| Pages fitting more than one (or none!) of the main categories |
- Air-Scene UK has
an excellent selection of superb pictures taken at airshows to drool over, and
lots of articles regularly being added. Definitely one to visit regularly.
- Paul Nann's Military Aviation Photo Gallery - loads of excellent pictures.
- Swept Wings - Historic Aircraft on Display in the UK from Mark Rogers.
Museum reviews plus lots of pictures of the exhibits.
- Aircraft Nose Art is a
fine set of pages devoted to airborne graffiti, and well worth visiting. Includes some RAF nose art, thereby
getting a link on this page instead of the other links page :-) There are around 1,000 pictures here,
it's a site that repays careful exploration. Heavy on the phone bill but worth it!
- Phil Treweek's excellent
Kiwi Aircraft Images - Phil may be based
in New Zealand but he has plenty of British types on display, including close-up photo features on, among
others, the Lancaster and Vampire. Lots of pictures, New Zealand museum information and details of
Phil's Euro-tour! A must-visit.
- Aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm
- Alex's Royal Navy page includes this Aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm since 1945 page, with
stats and some pictures. His main page includes FAA order of battle and Sea Harrier serial listing.
- John Hayles' Aeroflight
site has aircraft features, museum features, humour and lots more. Well worth a visit or three.
- AeroGuat
is a free web magazine about Latin American air forces, and is excellent. Issues so far have included much of
interest to UK readers including articles on the RAF in Belize and the Argentine forces in the Falklands war.
- Victor Flintham's Aviation Pages;
Victor is an aviation researcher and author and has well-researched material on lots of stuff including
a lot of British material, changing over time. Well worth a visit!
- Charles McHugh's site
on aviation art is well worth a visit.
- If you own (or want to own) an aircraft cockpit, why not join the International Cockpit Club?
- futurshox's aeroplanes is a nice site with pictures from
various airshows and the odd museum.
- Caricature Aircraft Pictures is a rather different collection
of aviation art!
- Tom McGhee's homepage displays a regularly-changing
selection of photos he's taken, mostly of jets at airshows in the UK.
- Paul Burton's Jets site has an ever-changing
selection of airshow pictures, and... movies! Don't all leave T&L at once, please...
- Bill Bielauskas has several very rare pictures of 1950s British Aircraft.
- Nicholas' British Rockets and Satellite Launchers
site is an expanding look at the abortive UK attempts to enter the space race, and includes (or will include)
lots of aviation-related rocketry, e.g. the V-Force's Blue Steel nuclear missiles.
- Greg Goebel's Vectors is
a collection of articles written by Greg about aviation and science subjects and well worth a read.
- A handy G-Number Search page;
seen an aircraft and don't know what it is but got the registration? Look it up here.
- Stuck in a certain quiz? Try the Aircraft Identifier to
see if that helps. It generally won't help with my quiz though :-)
- Robert Beechy's Uncommon Aircraft site
is dedicated to covering those lesser-known types, including British ones such as the Saunders-Roe SR.A/1
jet fighter flying boat. Stuff you won't usually find anywhere else on the net!
- Aviation Archaeology in the UK -
find out about the latest digs and recoveries of wrecks etc. from the past.
- Andrew Gilliam's Wight Air Wrecks, a site on aircraft
crashes on the Isle of Wight.
- EPAS - The European Preserved Aircraft Site
is a site listing many of the preserved aircraft to be found at museums etc. throughout Europe. While
not complete, it gives you a good view of what's out there to see and there are a number of pictures
of the aircraft too.
- DD Video are a British
company who produce a good range of aviation videos. While they're not the most stunning videos and
the production values can be cheap and cheerful, you don't get this material in many other places and
some of their videos cannot be beaten for the subject matter included - e.g. the flying sequences
of the TSR.2 in their video "TSR.2 - The Untold Story".
- The Farnborough Movements Page
is ideal for spotters interested in what goes on at Farnborough airfield.
- Society of British Aerospace Companies; who
you've probably heard of purely for the Farnborough SBAC shows!
- Rob Davis runs the Bomber Command in WW2 page is well
worth a read.
- Pilot magazine's site
has a good load of stuff.
- Tony Stigle is an
aviation photographer, one of Pilot's contributors, and his site has details of his pictures and how
you can buy prints of them.
- DeltaWeb
run the Red Arrows' web site amongst others and have some useful stuff here including an article on
the 60th anniversary of the Spitfire.
- The A. J. Jackson collection
- The late A.J.Jackson's collection of aviation photographs; you can order prints here.
- Kwong Chiew Foong's
Warplanes of the 20th Century;
small pictures and info on WW2 and modern aircraft. On the UK side, modern aircraft includes the EF2000 and Tornado
when I looked, and WW2 UK stuff covers the Spitfire, Blenheim, Lancaster, Mosquito, Hurricane, Firefly
and Swordfish.
- Herve Champain's European Airshow page - loads of great pics, go take a look right now!
- Jeremy Harkin's Military Aircraft Archive - WWI, WWI, Postwar, Helos & Cockpit shots.
