These are sites about a whole branch of the UK armed forces or sites dedicated to a
particular location, squadron or unit of one of the branches.
- The Royal Air Force Home Page - which has evolved over
the last few years to become a truly excellent site, far too much good stuff to mention, just go there!
- RAF Marham - official site,
including a Shop where you can get hold of prints,
patches, books etc.
- MoD Reunited - a site to find old friends in the forces.
- The Strike/Attack Operational Evaluation Unit (SAOEU) now have
their own site.
- Paul's Plane Page from Paul Crossley -
a great site with lots of stuff on modern RAF aircraft, information about RAF Valley, and a focal point for
ex-RAF personnel looking for old friends. An increasingly large image gallery
is one of the major attractions here with contributions from photographers all
over the globe.
- Norman Down's pages on WWII GCI station RAF Bempton.
- RAF Cranwell, centre of all things
training.
- RAF Kinloss,
home of the Nimrod, and there's a load of stuff about that aircraft and resident squadrons on this nicely done site.
- RAF Northolt
is an RAF base near London mainly used by transport aircraft, and this is a great set of pages from
a local enthusiast to tell you everything you need to know about the place, right down to what films have
had scenes filmed at Northolt!
- RAF St. Athan now has a web site,
and has lots on what the base is used for. Nice set of pages, hopefully more RAF bases will follow.
- 8 Squadron,
the AEW boys at Waddington. Nice little site.
- 23 Squadron.
- RAF Apprentices And Boy Entrants Home Page
speaks for itself really.
- RAF Boy Entrants Association...
sounds rather similar too!
- William Daysh's 49ers Reunion Web Site is a web
site for RN Aircraft Artificers, classes of 1949 with lots of memories in the way of stories and photo galleries.
includes a good number of piccies of Sea Vixens in action in the galleries.
- RAF Oban - 38 and 43 Squadrons with lots
of info about the base's history and use by flying boats.
- A 42 Squadron site with history
and details of the aircraft operated by the squadron.
- 47 Squadron at RAF Lyneham are hosting Bullseye '98,
this year's Hercules flying competition.
- 207
Squadron Association.
- Alistair Currah has a site on RAF Gan, the Indian Ocean staging
post which closed in 1976.
- The Royal Air Forces Association keeping ex-RAF members
in touch.
- The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund Enterprises -
the profit-making arm of a very worthwhile charity. RAFBFE books are of particularly high quality and
should be looked out for!
- Royal Auxiliary Air Force home page.
Was more advanced than the RAF home page, which is a bit ironic!
- The Royal Navy Homepage
includes a section on the Fleet Air Arm, including its history and its future. Not bad.
- Can't forget the Royal Marines now, can we?
- The Army get in on the act with some nice pages
but almost nothing about the airborne lot.
- The Aircrew Association aims to bring
together ex-aircrew from all branches of the forces.
- British Forces is a big site all about the British
Forces in the two World Wars, plus histories of each branch.
- The Ex-Forces Network was created with the
primary purpose of assisting British ex-service personnel to establish and maintain contact with former friends.
