Jaguar GR.1 XX826 at Atlantic Air Adventure, 24th September 2017; Jake Wallace

XX826 began life in 1975, and was delivered to the RAF in October, a month after its first flight. The airframe only had a 9-year-long career, when it was placed into storage at Shawbury in early 1984.

The aircraft emerged from storage in 1990 when it was transferred to RAF Cosford, where it was used for ground instructional purposes for many years. In 2006, XX826 was sold to Everett Aero, before the fuselage moved on to Welshpool. By this point, the aircraft was in a bit of a state, with several panels missing and fading paintwork. The fuselage was later reduced to a cockpit section and was exported to Ireland for display at Atlantic Air Adventure in Shannon. The cockpit has since been restored, and for some time could be seen outside alongside their complete Buccaneer XX897 and Lightning cockpit XM144.

After many years spent outside, the cockpit of XX826 has recently gone undercover after a new building was built during the last year or so.
